Boat Crew Training

For some, the term "training" means attending classes and studying hard. For those involved in Auxiliary Boat Crew training we know that studying and attending classes is only the beginning. To become qualified to serve as crew on a Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel an Auxiliarist must demonstrate proficient knowledge and skill in boat handling, navigation and chart reading, knot and line handling, administering first aid and the ability to respond in an emergency situation--regardless of the type of emergency. These are but only a few of the abilities and skills a member must possess in order to complete the crew program. Becoming crew qualified is one of the proudest moments an Auxiliarist will experience. Of course, as with all Auxiliary activities the fellowship shared among members, especially after completing such a program is hard to beat.
